Firstly on Satuday evening in La Liga, back Deportivo to be leading at HT at Athletic @ 5/2 with Totesport. Depor have conceded 1 fhgoal away from home in 8 matches and have been leading at the break in their last 3. Athletic with 2 home wins only so far this season have just crept out of the relegation zone. They have managed only 3 fhgoals at home all season and have been behind at the break in 3 of their last 5.
Follow that up on Sunday with Cagliari to win first half at home to Udinese @ 12/5 (Spodds). The key to Cagliari’s success last season was there strong home form. They have disappointed this season so far, drawing 5 and losing 1 of their first 6 games as they seemed to change manager every other week. They find themselves in a relegation place half way through the season and will be relying on rediscovering that strong home form if they are to stay up. 2 recent home wins seem to indicate a change in form. In both of those wins they have lead at the break. Indeed in their last 6 home fixtures only Milan have managed to score against them before the break. Udinese have been inconsistent so far this term after a great season that saw them qualify for CL. They have yet to go in at the break away from home on level terms, winning 3 and losing 5. In fact they have been behind in 3 of their last 4. These stats make Cagliari a good value pick.
2 hours later, back to Spain for Celta v Sociedad. Celta’s 1st half home form has been excellent so far with 5 wins out of 8 and no goals conceded until they played Depor in their last home game and were hammered 3-0 before the break. Sociedad are just as impressive away, with 3 wins in the last 5 (1 of which was a trip to the Camp Nou) and 4 clean sheets. Therefore I fancy the value here lies with the away side who are 7/2 with Spodds to be leading at the break.
