Wigan v Everton
The odds on this game look interesting. A couple of months ago I wouldn’t have thought that Everton would have much chance to win at Wigan, but form and injuries have hit the Premiership’s newbies hard recently, while Everton have managed to improve on their lamentable early season form. The Latics have lost 4 of their last 6 home matches and last time out gave 10-man West Brom their first away win of the season. Although Everton’s form is improving, it is still unreliable – they have 4 wins from their last 7 away and that run contains impressive results at Blackburn (2-0 win) and at Old Trafford (1-1), but either side of those results came 4-0 shellackings at West Brom and Aston Villa! However I think the 23/10 available with Sporting Odds on the away win looks decent. The 11/8 (also Spodds) on the Toffee’s to score the first goal also looks good value - Everton have scored it 4 out of the last 7 away, while Wigan have conceded it in 5 out of their last 6 at home.
