I backed Sunderland to score the 1st goal last time out at West Ham at 12/5, only to see them reduced to 10 men early in the game. They are 11/4 to score 1st against a Blackburn side that has conceded the opener in 3 of it's last 5 at Ewood Park (Everton, West Ham and Portsmouth). Sunderland are still fighting, as you would expect of any side managed by Mick McCarthy, and battled back from a goal down to claim a point at home to Spurs at the weekend. Their away form is actually better than home form and they are capable of scoring the opener away from home. They have done so 3 times in the last 5 away matches, at Fulham, Spurs and West Brom.
Generous odds I think from Coral. 11/4 for Sunderland to score 1st, is a recommended bet.
