Toon live on Swedish TV for the second week in a row and a better result this time. Hard to believe that we could win this match after being absolutley battered in the 1st half. Has there ever been a more incompetent set of players assembled on the same pitch week after week than our back 4? Only Mr Bellamy's profligacy denied Pool what should have been a healthy ht lead. But Liverpool went missing in the second half and allowed our defence to settle. Bellamy had found so much space in the first 45, but Bramble actually managed to keep him under wraps in the second half.
Really impressed with Obafemi Martins, who seems very strong and really fights for the ball when it is knocked up to him. Despite his small stature he makes himself a handful and holds the ball up well. Shola Ameobi take note. Dyer though looks ordinary to me, overrated, does not seem to have the speed of mind to play up front. Scott Parker fought hard and put in some great challenges, really the sort of midfielder we love at Newcastle.
Has there ever been an uglier front 3 than Bellamy, Kuyt and Crouch?
