Early thoughts
Saturday
Arsenal v Man City
(3-1, 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-1, -)
City still overrated after fluking that win over Utd. Totally dominated and had Utd had a goalscorer playing then it could have been embarrassing. Arsenal looked big at 1.72 yesterday and price is now dropping to 1.68.
Villa v Fulham
(1-1, 0-0, 2-0, 3-0, 3-1, 2-0)
Villa dominated this fixture up until 2 seasons ago. Fulham robbed at home to Boro last w/e (as was I!).
Bolton v Reading
(1-3, -, -, -, -, -)
Things looking bleaker than ever for the Trotters. 3/3 losses and it seems Diouf and Anelka will be deserting soon. Lay at 2.38 against solid-looking Reading looks tempting if you like sub-evens.
Chelsea v Portsmouth
(2-1, 2-0, 3-0, 3-0, -, -)
Can't look beyond a Chelsea win really can you, or at the very least making it 65 in row undefeated at home.
Derby v Birmingham
(no Prem meetings in last 6 yrs)
Relegation 6-pointer. Both teams with 1 pt from 3 games. Home side to win @ over 2.5 worth a dabble?
Everton v Blackburn
(1-0, 1-0, 0-1, 0-1, 2-1, 1-2)
2 sides expected by many to be up challenging for 6th place. Historical stats make under 1.5 goals look appealing @ 3.05.
Sunderland v Liverpool
(-, 0-2, -, -, 2-1, 0-1)
Pool away from home look rather short at 1.68. They have a 37% win ratio over the last 3 seasons, and only 32% last season. Depends how the mackems react to last w/es drubbing at Wigan.
Gerrard is out and replaced by Sissoko. Sissoko started 10 away games from Pool last season, of which they won 1.
Bet Lay Liverpool @ 1.68
West Ham v Wigan
(0-2, 0-2, -, -, -, -)
Wigan can be confident with recent form and historical form at Upton Park. 4.2 on the away side to make it 3/3?
Sunday
Man U v Spurs
(1-0, 1-1, 0-0, 3-0, 1-0, 4-0)
2 teams who have had nightmare starts after expecting so much. Will Jol still be in charge come Sunday? Will Utd manage a win at the 4th attempt this season (against a team that have drawn there 2 in last 3)? Are Utd big at 1.6?
Boro v Toon
(1-0, 1-2, 2-2, 0-1, 1-0, 1-4)
Good record in Smogville for the toon, but who knows what display we will come up with... Bolton away or Villa home. A half-decent performance should be enough to see of this shabby lot. Then again depends if you think Boro are value at home @ 2.88 against a side that lost 12/19 away last season.
